Many people were surprised and some even shocked when it was
revealed that the list of Qandeel Baloch’s phone contacts comprised of many
illustrious personages. None would have perhaps surprised who have read Saadat
Hassan Manto saying,” No one can better know the noble personages of my city
than the prostitutes of my city”. Those
with a keen critical eye on the society which is sharply divided along the
economic lines many not wonder with such revelations.
The distinction between the haves and the have- nots is a
common phenomenon in Pakistani society, which reflected by their life-style,
likes and dislikes and tastes. The haves equipped with the necessary means
satisfy their senses at all costs, they make use of political, economic and
even social statues for the satisfaction of their carnal gratification. Among
their available means the economic status is most widely misused, capitalizing
on which they even maneuver the moral values and make the perversion
legitimate.
A girl neither dances at mujra with her own consent,
nor pleases man’s libido night after night with self motivation, but they are
driven by certain circumstances and do the same for their survival not for joy.
It is the class of nobles and their descendents who can always be witnessed
providing fodder to them for their survival.
The wealth of the nobles waters these gardens of eroses. The girls
remain in their good books as long as the girls are physically and socially
able to serve them, once they grow older, get publicly defamed or die an
accidental death they are disowned by all.
