A strange Pakistani mindset.

Among the plethora of social ailments  haunting Pakistani society, the way of honoring and rewarding its outstanding national figures who accomplish some valuable feats is indeed a strange one. All nations have their heroes in various walks of life, but the ways to reward them and appreciate their contribution are in no way like the one displayed by Pakistani. A strange mindset has been prevailing over here: whosoever makes some achievement, must be made prime minister of Pakistan.

Imran won world cup and his contribution to the game of cricket and national prestige was widely appreciated, but neither he himself nor the society itself felt satisfied with. A befitting reward of   the contribution was deemed in the slot of prime ministership and imran khan has been vying for the same position so that he may get a proper reward for what he has for his country.

Dr.Abdulqadeer is credited with the swift enrichment of uranium for the nuclear program of Pakistan. He received appreciation greater than any other social icon in Pakistan, he was even considered father of the atomic bomb of Pakistan. But Dr.Qadeer deemed reward of his achievement in becoming the prime minister of the country.

Chudry Iftikhar, who during the last moments of his tenure, tried to assert himself as a hero form the judiciary saw himself the only man deserving to become prime minster of Pakistan. Making an overuse of his imaginative faculty, capitalizing on his output in the past (in imagination) he formed the political party and came forward to contest for the slot of prime ministership.

Army generals are never behind in the race of getting due reward of their services for the nation, they are also out to  become prime ministers of the country so that they have a  proper reward of their services for the country. Among them Air Marshal Asghar Khan, Mirza Aslam Baig, and General Musharraf are conspicuous.

On the other hand, in rest of the world, persons who render outstanding social services and make invaluable contributions don’t seek reward of their feats in becoming heads of their government or state. Mohammad Ali, Sachan Tandulkar, Justice John Marshal and thousands of other outstanding figures who have made marks in their fields around the world, did not show intentions of cashing their achievement the Pakistani icons do. Although the ex-president of India is one such example, but there was not the level persuasion on his part as we find in case of Pakistani icons.

However, there is a great figure among the Pakistani social icons as well, who indeed paid services for the sake of services. He spent his whole life in serving his fellow beings, and his services were acknowledged globally. He did not deem prime ministership as a suitable reward of his contribution and left behind his son Faisal Edhi to carry on his mission.
